Set Up Counseling System for students UGC
UGC has asked all universities to have a “student counseling system” for redressal of the grievances of students. This announcement comes in the wake of the massive outrage over a Dalit research scholar in Hyderabad University, committing suicide. Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Secretary of UGC mentioned in a letter sent to the Vice Chancellors of all universities that the system should be target oriented and interactive. He also said common concerns of students that range from stress, anxiety, fear of change, failure to homesickness and other academic worries should be addressed in this system.
